What would I change in high school?
What I would like to add to that list is that we should be able to pick the courses that we want that will revolve around our job of our choice.This will result in teenagers wanting to go to school and not skipping classes this will make us want to learn about the subject we are taking.
I would also like to add to the list is smaller classes because the teacher would have more of a chance to interact with the students instead of the teacher being all over the room but she could take time with each student and have more of an impact with the student.
I agree with the rest of the things that is on that list but these two are the ones I would just like to add to the list.
Hi Azeem, this is a good start to your post. Can you provide links to the "list" for your readers who may not be part of our class (e.g. mom/dad) and could you expand on your suggestions with some more examples or details. For example, did you know that you get more choice and electives as you mature and get closer to graduation / leaving school and choosing a career path? I understand your position fully as most junior students seem to have few choices but I wonder if gr 8 and 9 students are already thinking of their careers? Should they be? Or are there some skills or courses that are beneficial to any career (meaning they are foundational) and should be required ? Or do you think junior students have all the foundational skills they need (e.g.. reading, writing, ,math,…) for life and are ready for the next step? I can see you are thinking - please add to this post and re-post. I look forward to reading it.
